Proposals are some of the most fun life events to be a part of. It’s all nerves and planning and complete joy and laughter and happy tears. This surprise proposal in Malibu took place just near Neptune’s Net. The day could not have been more perfect. Everyone was out enjoying the beautiful summer day.

The Proposal

Ryan had been communicating with us for months! He had it all planned out literally 5 months prior to proposing. He even had a beach house rented out for the weekend to celebrate with his soon to be fiancé. We planned to follow the pair, just after their engagement, to their beach house destination to get a few shots of them at their fun little get away. It’s so exciting to see these things play out, because no matter how much planning goes into it ahead, keeping it a surprise the day of can be super tricky. Sometimes lots of spontaneous changes need to happen on the day of the proposal to stay causal and not give the proposal plans away. Ryan sneakily texted us updates as the time to meet got closer, but he was pretty much right on time! We were like giddy little kids hiding in the bushes when we saw the two come around the corner to Ryan’s perfectly scoped out location. And the rest is history!
