We're having a....
Colin and I have talked about out metaphorical kids from time to time throughout our marriage. We even had a name picked out when we referred to our first born. At one point, (I think in year 3 of our marriage) I wrote down a list of things I wanted to do or accomplish, baby “x” listed at the bottom. In all of our plans we always talked about our “boys…” For some reason I had only imagined myself as a boy mom. So when our genetic blood work came back with our gender test marked “FEMALE”, we were both shocked beyond explanation. It’s kind of hilarious to me now, obviously knowing that it comes down to a 50/50 chance, but some people say they can feel it. And I KNEW it was a boy early on. I wasn’t sick at all. I felt great. My skin cleared up and all I had heard and read pointed towards boys being easier pregnancies. So yeah, I knew. haha
Sike! I knew nothing. We’re having a girl! So we’ll keep that name on my list for later. And as for her name, well we weren’t ready with any backup girl names, so we’re waiting to meet her and see what she looks like and feels like before we decide.
We’re so excited to be starting our baby life with a little lady. Colin’s already talking about taking her surfing, golfing, and camping. Our immediate hopes and plans are to finish renovating our Airstream Argosy by late spring and when she’s a couple months old, take life on the road or at least some kind of exploring short term. We try to stay in tune with our goals and ambitions and we want to make sure we still do the things we always wanted to, even though we’ll have a kid with us now. Everyone tells us, kids will change everything. And we definitely believe that. But we’re both huge dreamers and we always have a list of ideas and plans to make life interesting. We have major goals to keep that alive no matter whose tagging along with us :) And we’ll do our best to keep you updated with all that jazz as it unfolds.
